A smile makeover is a particular type of cosmetic dentistry. If you are unhappy with the appearance of your smile, we can design a new one for you.
The process of a smile makeover is as simple or as complex as you want it to be. The process will involve many different procedures and thus, can involve multiple treatments and steps.
Smile Makeover Step 1
Firstly, we will always carry out a full dental examination specifically, to identify any problems you may have. We will carry out any general dentistry if you have any issues before considering cosmetic treatments. This will include visits to the dental hygienist to make your gums as healthy as they can be.
Smile Makeover Step 2
This is the smile planning stage so, we ask lots of questions to determine what you want. Tooth whitening could be all you need, or you may need more advanced treatments. During the planning stage, we take photographs and models of your teeth to help design your smile. We then show you a digital or wax preview of your smile so you can decide if you like it.
Smile Makeover Step 3
The treatment stage. There are different levels of treatment, from the least invasive to the most invasive. You may have some or all of the treatments listed below provided that your dental health is good. It all depends on how far you wish to go. You are always in control of your treatment.
Non-invasive options
- Airflow teeth cleaning removes any deep surface stains
- Tooth Whitening is the most simple form of smile enhancement
- Composite Bonding is a non-invasive option which involves adding composite to your teeth
- Orthodontics and braces are also considered non-invasive as no drilling of your teeth takes place.
More invasive options
- Dental veneers, although only require minimal tooth drilling, are still an invasive option. New ultra-thin veneers require even less drilling, however, are not totally reversible.
- Crowns, bridges and implants are the most invasive options as lots of drilling and surgery take place.
