All about Fixed Braces
Discrete fixed braces provide teeth straightening by moving teeth into better positions. They work by attaching brackets to the teeth which consequently, holds a wire in place. The wire causes the teeth to move into the desired position.
Most people have seen patients with teeth braces as they are very common in younger patients. However, now they are as common in adult patients.
There are various options for fixed teeth braces along with different brands and systems.
Fixed Ceramic Braces
Very discrete, ceramic braces are tooth coloured, and therefore, only visible when you stand very close to a patient wearing them.
Fixed ceramic braces are the most common form of fixed braces used on adult patients. They let you undergo orthodontic treatment quickly and discreetly.
Available Brace Systems
Newer systems allow extremely quick tooth movement and therefore reduce treatment time. We use systems such as Quick Straight Teeth and Six Month Smiles, amongst others. As the name of these systems suggests, they work fast!

Fixed Metal Braces
Orthodontic systems still use traditional metal brackets.
Still the most common form of fixed braces used in younger patients due to a lower cost compared to ceramic brackets. However, as they are quite visible, they are not common in adult patients.
Available Brace Systems
Damon braces are a system that uses metal brackets and offers quicker tooth movement. Damon braces cost a little more than other metal brace systems.

Fixed Lingual Braces
Lingual braces fixed to the backs of your teeth as opposed to the front surface. They are an amazing option if you are conscious about wearing braces, as they are totally invisible.
They work in the same way as metal or ceramic fixed braces, however, the brackets require individual manufacture so they fit you. Lingual braces are more complex to apply and hence after provided by a specialist orthodontist.
